Murtada Elfadl Variety Davidson shows he may not have the chops to carry a horror film, while DeMonaco fails to deliver any thrills this time. Ultimately, it’s a by-the-numbers effort that proves quite disappointing. Jul 25, 2025 Full Review Adam Graham Detroit News Davidson is in over his head conveying any sense of suspense or danger, and the blood-soaked climax is plays like a live action video game fantasy come to life. Rated: D- Jul 25, 2025 Full Review Ignatiy Vishnevetsky AV Club While The Home doesn’t distinguish itself in terms of style or subtext (one can argue that it doesn’t have any of the latter), it at least throws out just enough gross-out imagery to keep a viewer awake. Rated: C Jul 25, 2025 Full Review Matt Donato Daily Dead The Home is the sum of many underwhelming parts ... It feels like an imitation horror film, from television-y cinematography to ideas that are thrown at the wall in the hope that something sticks. Rated: 2/5 Jul 29, 2025 Full Review Eric Langberg Everything's Interesting Sure, it might take too long to get there, but once THE HOME really gets going, it’s a vicious broadside against the elderly. How often can you say that? ... This movie straight-up hates old people, and you know what? It might be right to. Jul 29, 2025 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X DeMonaco maintains a sense of constricting creepiness throughout, culminating in a proper blowout. Mr. Hollywood Ridiculous. Boring. Lazy. Need I go on? Ok: Pete Davidson cant hold a movie let alone a horror movie. The story is ridiculous and it doesnt earn the ending. Huge skip Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/31/25 Full Review Glenn M Decent movie. Many plot twists. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/31/25 Full Review Robert O The movie takes a long time to get going but once it hits its stride, the movie is quite enjoyable. I went in with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised with storyline. Maybe is a better streaming movie, but I enjoyed the Home. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Danny best horror movie this year Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Kevin F I won't say much, but it was an original take on an idea some will recognize from other films. Good ambience then it goes hard like Texas Chainsaw to finish. Really enjoyed it, Davidson was likeable as the lead and the villains worked. Modern horror bores me to death most of the time, this one didn't. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review dan g Different and definitely creepy! Enjoyed the movie and new story plot.
