Tom Peck The Times (UK) What’s arguably most intriguing about The Assassin is that there is an easy way to get hold of a flawless comedy thriller, one with all the whip-smart, antic charm of, say, Killing Eve or Daniel Craig’s last Bond movie, No Time to Die... Jul 29, 2025 Full Review Sean O'Grady Independent (UK) “Implausible” is the word that springs to mind with The Assassin. This is frustrating, because so much of the production is absolutely plausible -- to the extent that, while watching it, I actually felt like I was on set and part of the action. Rated: 3/5 Jul 29, 2025 Full Review Wenlei Ma The Nightly (AU) The first half of the series has more energy and pep as it morphs into darker tones towards the end and loses steam after a promising start. Jul 28, 2025 Full Review Pat Stacey Irish Independent The Assassin is terrific fun. It moves like an express train across several locations, including Albania, Libya and London, and is packed with corkscrew twists and enough shady characters to block out the Greek sun. Jul 28, 2025 Full Review Sabrina Barr metro.co.uk It’s Mamma Mia combined with Taken, with a dash of Black Doves thrown in for good measure. Rated: 4/5 Jul 25, 2025 Full Review Emily Baker iNews.co.uk This wannabe James Bond thriller is an insult to Hawes's talents. Rated: 1/5 Jul 25, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Yeremiah A They haven't made anything like this in years. most movies are about sex political retoric and cult references. This was fun, exciting and thrilling. I wished it lasted longer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Nic C Poor script. Awkward acting. Dull dialogues. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Mitch R Really enjoyed this show, can't understand the bad reviews. People saying it didn't know what it wanted to be but personally thought it was bang on, binged in 2 days. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Robin H It's definitely trying to channel James Bond, even down to the music (lingering on the second note of the scale), but the action sequences are not believable or over the top, more 1980s A-Team. The script and plot keep the thing moving, but I do wonder whether it would have worked better as a comedy. The main plot device is a secret which involves marmalade, and beyond that I've forgotten, and I only finished the series last night. The killers are mostly women, as per the current trend. The men are either disposal baddies, wimps, drug addicts, computer nerds, or bad fathers. It passes the time, has good locations (e.g. "France" in big letters), but is very forgettable. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Steve B Absolutely love Keeley but the script is so cheesy that I just couldn’t watch it beyond second episode. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Joseph M I AGREE WITH ALL REVIEWS BY THE AUDIENCE REVIEWS! THIS WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. THE SCRIPT WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE, AS WAS THE CRINGY ACTING. CASTING OPTIONS WAS WRONG! SOME GREAT ACTORS BUT HOWEVER SHAMFUL CRINGY SCRIPT. THE TALENTED KEELEY HAWES DOES HER BEST WITH THE EMBARASSING SCRIPT AND CHARACTER SHE PLAYS. AND WHOEVER DECIDED TO CAST FREDDIE HIGHMORE FOR HIS ROLE THATS ANOTHER EMBARRASSMEMT. HE WAS NOT RIGHT FOR THE ROLE! OVERALL POOR SCRIPT, POOR ACTING, POOR DECISION IN CASTING...... AND PLEASE COULD SOMEONE PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME HOW ALL THE PROFESSIONAL CRITICS REVIEWS ARE POSITIVE. ARE THEY ON THE SAME PLANET. ALOT OF MONEY WASTED ON THIS GARBAGE. DOMT WASTE YOIR TIME!!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Read all reviews
