Still a bright beacon in the Star Trek universe, Strange New Worlds' third season makes up for its lack of narrative ambition with gleaming execution.

Ed Power Daily Telegraph (UK) It has everything the discerning Trekkie could want. Epic interstellar battles, dodgy yellow knitwear and alien races with pointy plastic ears that look like they might go warp factor nine near an open flame. Rated: 4/5 Jul 17, 2025 Full Review Clint Worthington RogerEbert.com A show that continues to uphold the ideals of its franchise’s point of origin, even as its swings boldly go nowhere all that deep. Jul 17, 2025 Full Review Christian Blauvelt IndieWire All that’s left is the fun. Hey, who are we to complain when it’s a show this fun? But “Star Trek” always has had the capacity to be more, and so has this show. Rated: B- Jun 16, 2025 Full Review Travis Johnson Blunt Magazine It’s a throwback in the best possible way, embracing the derring-do spirit of the original series, along with its determination to explore a broad range of ideas and scenarios. Jul 23, 2025 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Tribune-Review It may be tough to churn up much excitement for “SNW” based on the mixed quality of the first five episodes of the new season. Jul 17, 2025 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies The joy of watching the first five episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 lies in how confidently the creative team blends classic Star Trek storytelling with fresh tonal variety. Ruthie L My favorite season yet! Loved the second episode, Wedding Bell Blues. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Sean A. Star Trek with humor and heart! Really enjoy watching it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review Kai K Sadly not a fan of the story lines, I miss the old days stories better. Actors all don't make you feel like there characters. Very off feeling from true Star Trek style. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review Cthulhu C Episode 1 technical and scientific plausibility issues and very much Aliens shoe in and derivative 'sleep,' solution from Best of both worlds, originality 1/5. Episode 2 Squire of Gothos + This side of paradise+ What are little girls made of mashup, originality 0/5. Also terrible Spock characterisation and the whole core Trelane premise lost from original. Episode 3 Living Dead in space originality 2/5. The Doctor thread was the better part, but the sneaking about in the contrived planetary ring was implausible in the Trek setting. The girlfriend is dying is being drawn out. Erica is losing it is nobody noticing? Number ones hair was my high point. It's a really mixed bag this season so far. I end up saying things out loud while watching, which is never a good sign. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review J G It is so well done, it is like you are watching a movie. It will have you laughing, crying, bitting your nails and then pumping your fists in the air shouting “YES!”. I love these actors, writers, producers, and special effects department. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Audience Member This show and season seems to be sliding in the same direction Discovery did beginning in season 3. Which isn't a good thing IMO. Cut the bland melodrama Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Read all reviews
