Dangerous Animals Reviews
Jai and Hassie are fantastic! Really enjoyed this movie!
This is a very fun idea. A serial killer shark movie. It keeps you entertained throughout and the characters are likable to the point where your hands start sweating when they are getting into very tight situations. There are a few moments where you’re asking yourself “what was the point of that?” But overall it’s a fun movie that doesn’t get too out of hand like many modern serial killer/slasher movies. Definitely recommend if you’re a fan of the genre (7/10)
The unusually prolonged chasing begins to lose its efficacy after a while.
Exciting edge of your seat psycho-thriller. Stellar lead Performance by Courtney who plays an outrageous, sadistic serial killer, hunting down tourists to feed sharks. It’s as crazy as it sounds and it delivers.
It's a fairly predictable teen slasher movie. Not bad for its kind. Dragging in the sharks was a fun twist. I'd have given this film three stars but for the female lead. Her facial expressions were somewhat limited, shall we say? I'd raise an eyebrow over the casting choice. The sharks seemed to show more emotion than Hassie Harrison.
Jai Courteny is one of those actors who’s spent years doing film that never really gave him the chance to show what he could do when let loose. Luckily, we now have Dangerous Animals to demonstrate what he’s capable of when given the kind of material he can properly sink his teeth into, pun very much intended. It’s a survival horror film that does adhere to formula more often than not, but there’s plenty of moments where you see the film trying to do something different, trying to push boundaries and trying to make everything have a point. There’s some cheesy and stupid moment, including a ‘killing the baddie’ quip that makes no sense in context, as well as a very convenient app that allows our would-be hero to track down the lead. Courtney’s performance is the main reason to see it, giving us a character who’s just as comfortable rambling philosophically about predators and prey as he is when feeding innocent tourist to hungry sharks. If Jaws made you afraid to go in the water, then Dangerous Animals certainly wont remedy that in any way. But if you’re just looking for some fun survival horror thrills, it more than delivers.
Predictable but good.
A shark/serial killer combination forms a good basis for a movie, and it hasn't been overly done before. My observations: Some of the acting is bad and dialogue hokey. The blonde is a Jennifer Lawrence- type. I recognized the name of the actor who plays the villain but not his face- he is excellent and physically imposing enough to be menacing. SPOILERS: Of course, of course...someone gets shot by a harpoon gun. I would have ended things differently, so as to set things up for a possible sequel.
Rate: 7/10 Take a serial killer, a camera and jaws - mix them together and what do you get? The perfect suspenseful thriller movie that can keep you at the edge of your seat. From every escape attempt to every capture, you scream at the screen from start to finish. Highly recommended
Absolutely excellent. Silence of the Lambs meets Jaws. Intense and brutal. I don't squirm ever during horror type movies but the thumb scene had me looking away. I felt especially bad for the Heather character. Jai Courtney was phenomenal as the maniacal fisherman. Just fantastic.
As a fan of Deep Blue Sea, I approve this movie! Also, Moses is love and Zephyr is the ultimate final girl.
I really liked the story in this movie…pretty good acting too! Pretty original idea as well ..the ending fell flat for me but over all pretty decent
The ocean leaves no trace. Dangerous Animals is a 2025 survival horror film directed by Sean Byrne 🦈 Can’t recommend it. Meh, it passed the time. Sort of. 😕 A savvy and free-spirited surfer is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer. Held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below.
WOW! What an incredible movie. Great acting by everyone in the film, especially the shark serial killer I love shark movies, but they can be so corny and fake sometimes. The sharks were real and the fear and intensity you feel throughout is impressive. The serial killer is also a great character. I highly recommend this film!
Pleasantly surprised by this Jaws meets kidnapper wacko film. Even though some parts (bucket handle in the neck) don't play out true to life - the suspense is fun.
The thrills deliver in this low expectation suprise of a shark film! Wow! One of the best shark movies I've seen since Jaws! You must catch this non-stop jump scare ride as it's sure to keep you out of the water. Acting kudos to Jai Courtney and Hassie Harrison!
Pretty solid movie. Good horror/thriller movie
Good film. Enjoyable.
