Upload: Season 3 Reviews
The endearing, inventive sci-fi comedy sadly loses grasp of its unique appeal in season three, returning as the dullest version of itself.

Has Upload overstayed its welcome? Maybe, but it is still fun to spend time with Nora, Nathan, Ingrid, Luke, Aleesha and most importantly A.I. Guy.

The common people in the show are both so stupid they’ll believe basically anything, yet also so important to democracy that Horizen is willing to murder them to keep them from voting.

Its ability to read our present and predict our immediate future reaches our reality (i.e., in morality problems related to AI and the use of a person's appearance), perhaps explaining why Amazon continues to keep it alive... [Full review in Spanish]

It’s all the fun technology stress of an episode of Black Mirror, but with a lot more humor.

"Upload" earns its popularity through thoughtful scripts and excellent comedic performances.

This new season starts off slow and has a bit of trouble finding its footing [...] but it eventually hits its stride. Robbie Amell remains as likable as ever, even with multiple versions of him running around.

There are two shows fighting in here: one that offers a real look at human issues and one that just wants to make fart jokes. I wish it would figure itself out.
Full Review | Original Score: 2.5/4 | Nov 3, 2023
I didn’t hate season 3, but I was let down by its unnecessary twistiness, some creeping aimlessness, and the sometimes-confused links between the uploads and the world, the uploads and the other uploads, and the downloads and the bodies.

As the series progressed through its second and third seasons, Upload has become even sharper in its critiques of wealth inequality and what the upper echelons of the economic strata is really doing to keep their money and power.

Upload can at times feel a little bit weighted down by a complicated plot. Still, season three proves that the show is still as reliably funny and original as ever thanks the array of funny supporting characters and an intriguing plot refresh.

It’s impressive that Upload has become so likeable. It is, after all, a show whose central drama pivots around a corporate-owned, spam-filled neoliberal hellscape.

While this season did meander a bit within the story, branching out into semi-detached tangents, the overarching plotline continues to captivate through rich and quirky characters, engaging storylines, and meaningful character interactions.

There is enough comedy, action, and romance to keep viewers entertained overall, but it feels like the series is stumbling in its third season. It may not have the longevity to continue for a fourth outing.

Upload is smart, funny, and the most ambitious sitcom on streaming.

But, after three seasons, Upload has really hit its stride and is absolutely one of the best shows Prime Video has in its arsenal. If you’ve been sleeping on this one, now’s the time to give it a look. You won’t regret it.

'Upload' returns for a third season that expands on the premise while still delivering everything that made it so popular in the first place. It isn't exactly groundbreaking, but it sure is entertaining.
Full Review | Original Score: 3/5 | Oct 18, 2023
Season 3 is pretty on par with the rest of the series. Humor weaves in and out through heavy topics and themes. And of course it ends on another massive cliffhanger.
Full Review | Original Score: 4/5 | Oct 18, 2023
Upload Season 3 continues to prove that this series is more than just an R-rated version of The Good Place. It doubles down on its satire while also being unafraid to throw a curveball at its audience.
Full Review | Original Score: B+ | Oct 18, 2023
While the series never fully deals with the themes it tackles, season 3 is enjoyable, with a great buildup that has stakes and intrigue.
