Jurassic World Rebirth Reviews

The seventh film in this long-running franchise has no sense of wonder anymore about these phenomenal creatures, just a feeling that no one knows what to do with them.

The strengths of REBIRTH in creating more than one memorable scene may well ensure its status as one of the better JURASSIC PARK follow-ups, but that bar is sadly low: it still exhibits the same problems as many of its less compelling fellow sequels.

A mix of uncomfortable cynicism from the studio, empty hopes from Edwards and a cast that along the veteran writer do nothing more than cashing a big check to be able to say that they "made a Jurassic Park". Fans deserve better. [Full review in Spanish]

Although Rebirth tries to capture the wonder, it falls drastically short. It may convert a few new fans over to the franchise, but if that were the goal just watch the original.

Shares as much DNA with the first film as chickens do with pterodactyls.

Refreshingly smaller in scale but also undeniably flimsy, a premise so thin it’s hard not to roll your eyes as it’s trotted out. Still, the plot’s simplicity makes room for what really matters: suspenseful set pieces, tight pacing, and dino danger.

Jurassic World Rebirth is the worst film of the Jurassic Park/World franchise because it has nothing original to offer. It spends so much time paying homage to the films that came before it that it lacks its own identity.

Director Gareth Edwards clearly recognizes the need to lean more heavily on the horror elements, and he finds a nice balance between suspenseful sequences and grand-slam moments of enormous power and violence.

One of us was higher on this than the other. On one hand, it felt like a return to form. On the other hand, it was just the same old story repackaged as a 'rebirth'. The leads were entertaining, and some fun dino scenes elevated the thin script.

What this film tells us is there’s a huge appetite for dinosaur adventure films. They don’t have to be good (or even unpredictable), they just have to be.

The franchise needs a radical retooling before its legacy becomes truly extinct.

"Jurassic World: Rebirth feels more like extinction—poor writing, flat characters, and CGI that wouldn’t scare a Tamagotchi."

I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did, especially after the last two films in the series. I think the main cast really sold this despite a mediocre story. The graphics were amazing.

This is a HUGE improvement from the previous Jurassic World films. The T-Rex raft scene was one of the best in the entire series. But at times it felt very disjointed and the performances were inconsistent.

The magic of Jurassic Park will never be recaptured, but if we must continue making Jurassic movies, we can at least make them fun. This is the most fun Jurassic movie in a long while.

The characters may change, the dinosaurs may change, the specific story details may change. But there’s an irritating sameness to these films.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” doesn’t live up to its title. Although the three leads’ acting is good, the best that could have been done regarding the film wasn’t carried out. This is unfortunate because it’s a long slog to the ultimate goal of the picture.

There are roars, there are escapes, there is jungle... but it lacks soul. And in a world where special effects no longer impress on their own, soul is everything. [Full review in Spanish]
